Mario kart 8 is almost here than you think and we have some big news to share with you IGN has shared with us yesterday! New retro tracks, new tracks, new items, and returning characters has been featured yesterday when IGN had a little gameplay time with the game yesterday. We have 2 epic videos, new screenshots, and more for you later on in the blog and some epic news to share with you guys today! Let's get to the characters!
New characters & returning ones:
The Koopalings are still the new characters so far in the upcoming game of Mario kart 8 but what about the returning characters? Well we have a lot! Daisy, shy guy, Lakitu, and the mighty Metal Mario is back in the race! These characters is gonna bring it like never before!
Retro Tracks:
There were a lot of retro tracks and 1 more new track featured in the new Nintendo clips they have shared with us of Mario Kart 8. First up is Toad's Turnpike from Mario kart 64! You are now able to fly off the trucks while there is so many traffic going on in this crazy course. You can also use the walls to drive on with the anti-gravity feature. Don't worry, this course is wider than ever before so there will be enough room for you to race. Next is Donut plains 3 from SNES, this course has amazing graphics and it has a colorful look to it. There isn't that much anti-gravity in this course but this course is sure a throwback to the nintendo racers! Moo Moo Meadows from Mario kart Wii, Royal Raceway from N64, & DK Jungle from Mario kart 7 is also returning, nothing was really explained by Nintendo about these courses but we will keep you updated. Cheep cheep beach from Mario kart DS is also back, the course is pretty much the same but there is more flight platforms to takeoff from. Last Nintendo retro course that was featured yesterday was Rainbow Road from Nintendo 64! Don't worry, there is mid-laps in this course since this course is too big. (Mid-laps is a finish line that features in the middle of the race and counts as a lap when you pass the line then you continue the race to the 3rd finish line. Mid-laps were featured in Mario kart 7.) Rainbow road was fixed up big time! There is no more railings, shorter curves, and more colorful than ever! We will have a video for you on the comparison on N64 rainbow road with Mario kart 8 N64 rainbow road!
New courses:
Water park was featured in the last clip Nintendo showed us. It's like a nintendo fantasy amusement park with a big anti-gravity curved wall to drive onto. Another new course that was featured was the Stadium course. This course is full of thrills and amazing excitement. If you have no idea how this course looks, checkout the screenshots below.
New items:
2 new items were featured yesterday and one of them were the Piranha plant. This Piranha plant is like a mushroom and a red shell combined in one! This item eats the air which gives you a boost while you race and bites the character's car if they are in front of the character with the item which slows you down during the race. Last item is the Boomerang which was featured in Super Mario 3D world. We all know what a boomerang does so you kinda get the idea.
